Daniel Espiritu, PhD Student in Cancer Research

August 2020 -

Daniel received his B.S. from Queen’s University (2020), with a major in life sciences and a specialization in drug development & human toxicology. During his undergraduate degree, Daniel investigated the effects of smoking on DNA methylation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients. Daniel continued on to complete a Master’s degree in Biomedical Informatics (2021), where he began working in the Computational Biology and Biophysics Laboratory. He is currently investigating the impact that mutations in histone coding genes have on cancer development and clinical outcomes.

In his spare time, Daniel enjoys weightlifting, hiking and cooking.
