Yiru Sheng, PhD student

Yiru received her Bachelor's in Biotechnology from Nanjing Agricultural University in China, where she developed a strong foundation in biology and biochemistry. She advanced her expertise with a Master's in Bioinformatics from the University of Guelph, Canada, focusing on genetic methods and statistical bioinformatics. Currently Yiru is working on developing computational algorithms to detect epigenetic drivers in cancer.

In addition to her scientific endeavors, Yiru is passionate about podcasting. Through her podcast, she interviews various guests, sharing stories that uplift and empower international students.
